NUFF Film Festival 2026

NUFF is Northwestern's student-led short film festival, born out of the RTVF community and open to filmmakers nationwide regardless of age or institutional affiliation. What started in 2024 as an internal celebration of RTVF student productions is expanding in 2026 into a full public festival in Evanston. Throughout November 13–14, 2026, NUFF will screen selected short films (20 minutes or under) across two days at Northwestern's campus, alongside guest speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities with Chicago filmmakers and Northwestern alumni in the entertainment industry. Selected filmmakers compete for seven awards: Audience Choice, Best of Festival, Best of NU, Best Directing, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, and Best Screenplay. Your donation helps us cover venue costs, guest speaker honoraria, and marketing for this growing celebration of student and independent filmmaking.
