Gifts to LAKEMUN I contribute to...
Building upon our organization’s 20+ years of experience hosting high school students and a T-25 travel team’s knowledge of the collegiate circuit, Northwestern University Model UN (NUMN) is so excited to be launching LAKEMUN, our inaugural collegiate conference. Hosted at the Hilton Orrington from February 26 to 28, we are actively working to attract Model United Nations (MUN) teams from all across North America to participate in a diverse, engaging slate of committees. Our hope is that this conference will not only provide attendees with a weekend of constructive and educational debate, but serve as an internal learning opportunity that will expand our entire program’s capacity for both competitive and administrative growth.
LAKEMUN features 6 unique committees, from our UN Environmental Programme General Assembly to fast-paced Crisis committees covering everything from municipal planning to medieval power struggles. Each one provides a venue for debate unique in topic, format, size, and tone. Both for our staffers and our delegates, we seek to provide an experience that truly has something for everyone, and in every committee, to facilitate competition and collaboration of the highest level. Supplemented by socials and other bonding opportunities, we want to give Northwestern the chance to bring delegates together both in and out of character.
Heading into our high school conference NUMUN’s 24th edition, we are familiar with the benefits running such an event can bring to an organization and its members: planning skills, a dependable revenue stream, and increased exposure beyond campus. We are just as familiar with the costs associated with pulling a conference off successfully, and it is for that reason that we ask for your support. We are firm in our belief that LAKEMUN I will pay off, increasing our program’s caliber and scale beyond its current state, if we can make it over the hurdles that the first edition of any initiative inevitably presents.
Thank you for taking the time to look into our work! We are incredibly excited to make LAKEMUN happen, and so grateful to everyone already working to do so. If you have any questions about LAKEMUN or Northwestern Model UN, we are more than happy to answer them, and look forward to connecting. Go ’Cats!

The benefits and services provided by Northwestern University’s student groups are available to all students without regard to any category protected by the law. The University believes different perspectives, experiences and backgrounds are critical to a dynamic and vibrant University
community, and as such all students are welcome and encouraged to join each group. Any student interested in exploring establishing a new affinity group should contact SOA.
We’re officially launching our Catalyzer page and couldn’t be more excited to get started! But we need your help to make our goal. Truly any amount would go a long way toward acquiring all the materials needed to run not one, but two Model UN conferences for the first time in school history.
