ReFusionShaka 2026

ReFusionShaka (RFS) is Northwestern’s largest student-run dance production, bringing together Fusion, Refresh, and Boomshaka for a one-of-a-kind collaborative performance. Each fall, RFS offers emerging student artists the rare chance to perform on a professional-scale stage in front of thousands, while also fostering a tight-knit community of dancers, musicians, and creators.

This year, we’re excited to build on that tradition by making the production even more immersive and accessible. Our student lighting team has bold plans to elevate the visual experience by renting tools like haze, beam effects, subwoofers, and spotlights, but these technologies require additional funding. At the same time, core production costs, such as Cahn Auditorium rental and Norris labor fees, often consume a large portion of our budget, leaving performers to cover their own costume and prop expenses.

Support from Catalyzer would allow us to redirect funds toward enhancing both the audience experience and the performers’ creative freedom, minimizing out-of-pocket costs for students and bringing our artistic vision to life on stage. With your help, ReFusionShaka can become a more inclusive, captivating celebration of the talent, passion, and collaboration that defines Northwestern’s performance community.
