My name is Talia Lawit, and I am directing Witch! I’m a sophomore majoring in theatre and political science. I love student-run theater and am beyond excited to work with our team to tell this story. Through its sharply funny and poignant modernization of its Jacobean setting, Witch explores constraining gender norms and suggests that we need bold, radical change to “reset” our world. As the director of this production, I am very excited to prompt conversations about hope, despair, and agency and invoke parallels between the world of Witch and our own. I look forward to collaborating with our team to bring this production to life!
Hi! My name is Sophie Zhu, and I am the producer of this Arts Alliance's production of Witch! We are so excited to share the poignant story of Witch on the Northwestern campus. By telling this story, we hope that members of the Northwestern community and beyond can reflect on the themes of this story, including sexuality and female autonomy. We and our beautiful team look forward to sharing this story with everyone in December!"
