Victor Jia

My name is Victor Jia, and I’m one of the co-tournament directors this year for NU Science Olympiad. I had the wonderful experience of directing our 2025 invitational and am excited to make this year’s invitational even more thrilling for our competitors. I attended Whitney Young Magnet High School in Illinois, where I first became involved in Science Olympiad. This club enabled me to explore the different areas of science, compete in demanding but fun environments, and build a community with my peers. Now, as a senior studying chemistry, I hope to provide younger students the same opportunities I had to investigate the sciences, compete in STEM events, and make valuable memories.

Abby Hou

My name is Abby Hou, and I’m the treasurer for NU Science Olympiad. I’m from Houston, Texas, and I’m a junior studying computer engineering. I am also a part of the Integrated Science Program, an interdisciplinary program where I learn so much from chaotic chemistry labs, building physics contraptions, engineering vehicles, and coding decryption algorithms with my peers. From there, I got involved with Science Olympiad and had a lot of fun working behind the scenes, writing tests and designing challenges. I want other young aspiring scientists and engineers to have the opportunity to challenge their creativity, compete with others, and overall, have a meaningful Science Olympiad experience. Outside of classes, I enjoy playing guitar, hiking, and taekwondo. Thank you so much for your support!
